Difference Between Web Developer and Web Designer

The world of online commerce and online promotions depends on the mighty shoulders of developers and designers. However, every business owners often wonder why he needs both, Designers and developers? Can't the one person manage his tiny business?
Let's face it, both of them have told you that there are specific tasks they just can't do. Designers will hear things like "how can we add a database to the website?", while developers struggle to answer questions about layout, color selection, image placement, and font styles.
The underlying truth is that the most Web Designers won't know a single thing about SQL, Java, and all other lingos and languages that discussed among the web developers. Also, you won't find an agency looking for a Web Developer who can build a stunning website with appeals to everyone.

Due to lack of funds or lack of knowledge, we do find people who are juggling the two jobs, and often such projects fail miserably.
A person can focus on either of the jobs, technical or creative but not both. The blame is on the weak understanding of the difference between Web Designer & Web Developer.
This includes everything from skill sets to the actual role each position plays in the formation of a Web-based project.

The most effective way to differentiate is to define a clear line that separated the roles and responsibilities of each position on a given project.

What is a Web Designer?
The creative minds that go into building the website's structure. They think of all aspects that influence the visits and time spend on your site. They realise the visions the clients bring to the table. Web Designers masterfully convert the concept into a pleasing, artistic design that aims to impress millions of viewers. Some of the designers are so ace at their job that they start studying and applying various aspects of typography, UI & usability to their designs.

Your designers require the latest and excellent tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver in their arsenal and subscriptions of stock photo sites. A CSS gallery list is just like a heaven for the designer who brings his best to the table.

It is a common argument that a designer's role also includes adjusting images, coding CSS and drafting or editing copy as per the requirements. In general, you can think that a Web Designer is a creative expert.

What is a Web Developer?
Web Developers are technical gurus. They have excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional logic that makes your super excellent website functional. On a regular basis, the developer understands five languages that are yet to be spoken like, CSS, HTML, PHP etc.
You can find the web developers working on different aspects of the functionality of your website and changing several codes that go into building website.
Their frequent visits are to pages like PHP manual, Mozilla JAvaScript etc.

Although Web Developers & programmers are confused, their skills usually exceed those of a typical software developer.  Think of a Web Developer as a technical expert with programming skills.

People Who do both.

As we discussed earlier, it is quite common to find people who specialise in both the jobs. There is an only small number of people who are proficient in both design and development.  In most cases, you'll find a cocky developer that thinks his models are the most significant thing that ever hit the Internet when, in reality, they're just mediocre.  It's far less frequent to find a designer who thinks he can code up an entire Web application.

So, Which One Should You  Choose?

Which one you choose depends on what you are trying to do, In many cases, your project requires both.  If you're starting a new website or redesigning an old one, you'll want to look for someone with design talent.  If you're looking for some database, E-Commerce solution, or integration application,  look for someone with strong web development skills.

Despite the fact that this writing strives to define the difference between Web Designers and Web Developers, the reality is that you're bound to find designers who know at least a little bit about development and developers who know at least a bit of design.  Some may never bother to differentiate themselves as one or the other.

Perhaps the most crucial aspect of managing a Web-based project can determine what skills a particular project requires, and who is the right person for the job.  In this industry, it is evident that, despite a reasonable separation of roles and responsibilities, an individual's job title is not always a reflection of their expertise.  It is, alas, more often an indication of their position regarding demand and naivety.

Hiring a website company is your best bet to get a perfect all-around website, from the design to the programming. Website companies can offer you the best of both worlds, by divvying up projects between their web designers and web developers. Typically a website company will also have a project manager on hand, who will be able to efficiently manage plans and make sure the developers and designers are on the same page. No one person can be an expert at everything. By hiring a website company, like Yupple Tech, you will get a properly managed and well-planned website that will look great and function properly.
